If Pidgin doesn't know whether the certificate is valid or not, you
could be vulnerable to a man-in-the-middle attack by blindly accepting

I think I found the root of this bug (at least for me).
It's related to sound. I noticed that the increase number of the FD
happens when the sound is not working. The pipes listed in lsof are to
the sound system.
I think it's related to flash-plugin (always the closed source!).

I just got this problem on Ibex. I can't pinpoint when it happened

Attaching the ecryptfs-utils debdiff patch. I'm uploading to my PPA for
integration testing with adduser. Please don't sponsor to Jaunty just
yet. I'd like to commit upstream first, and merge into an upcoming
ecryptfs-utils-67 release.

This _never_ affected KGPG. We set the ubuntu keyserver as default in
kubuntu-default-settings. So if you installed kgpg in a GNOME-only
environment you will not have the entry. That is however very intent
because Kubuntu provides the possibility to use a pretty vanilla KDE.

I find that only Firefox is affected (under Linux 8.10), all my other
applications behave as they should.
If I have multiple Firefox windows plus other applications open and only
want to close an individual browser window, I can either Alt+F4 whilst
viewing it, or Alt+Tab to a non-Firefox window a

Hi, are you still having this issue on Intrepid up-to-date (you are
running Intrepid, right?)?
Could you run "vlc -v2" in a maximized terminal, reproduce, and
copy->paste the output into a text file, and attach to this report?
