on the file J. Scott Berg provided gets me a page that says Test, a
blank page, another page that says Test, and then another blank page.
Overall I get two copies, which is the expected behavior, and which is

I have a fresh install of amd64 Intrepid. I just tried genisoimage.

Running Hardy (8.04) and problem still exists for me.
Thankfully, the solution of editing
/system/storage/volumes/_org_freedesktop_Hal_devices_... and deleting
the stuff worked.
Note: I actually had a slightly different problem than the original bug
report - I put the wrong mount options.

During startup it hangs and then I can see Starting NFS common utilities

I'd like to add to this particular bug, as I'm having the same issue.
Interestingly, two computers, both running updated Intrepid installs,
one works as it should (shows signal strength and correct SSID), the
other has the above issue (shows all grey bars, says connected to 'none'
for the SSID,
I've just compiled and installed the latest driver from Realtek, but I
still have a problem with multicast :(
Could somebody else confirm that multicast is not working ? for exemple,
both avahi and ipv6 autoconf don't work.

System locked up the first time I restarted and open firefox to post, but I am
assuming right now that I am using radeonhd because in the hard panel it says
flgrx is deactivated right now.
I installed the brightness applet on my top panel but when i tried to change

There seems to be a bug, in one of the programs that write its log to
the kernel log files.
The log files are blown up in a few hours with Gigabytes of log messages,
wasting all space on the root partition.
Affected are the files /var/log/messages, /var/log/kern.log and
I have Ubuntu running on an 8GB flash drive. Getting that to work was
frustrating. Installing on a 2GB drive was straightforward but when
following instructions the
8GB drive gave me a message invalid or damaged bootable partition.
Searching
the forum I found anecdotes solving similar problems
