I know of this bug, I had these problems (under windows xp) immediately
after I got this notebook. After I applied said update (it was a
firmware update of the NIC, which I did myself with guidance from the
tech support), these problems were gone under windows. There were also
no problems
No, the problem also happens when I use the nub in the middle of the
keyboard. Even if it was by error the gedit program shouldnt be able to
be moved around the screen just by mousing over any part of the window.

If I change the resolution of my panel, subsequent notifications are off
the screen.
For example, my laptop panel is 1400x1050 and notifications appear at
the top left, on screen (although partially covering the panel - covered
by bug

For completeness, if I change resolution back to the native previous
resolution of 1400x1050, new notifications appear on screen.
I used xrandr -s WxH to change resolution.

Came in and updated box this morning, now HDA intel is selectable and
now works - looks like I missed this bug report and posted in an old one
by mistake.

Hi all
On my System powerdevil isn't installed... and its verions is from
KDE4.1.3..
Version: 1.4.1-kde4.1.3-0ubuntu1~ppa1
so.. then i can't understand why powerdevil should be the problem, if it
isnt't available?.. or does i missed an information?

This has been fixed for me since the last version of Thunderbird. I'm
now using Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 and I'm able to hear a .wav file when I
receive new email. I believe this really was a bug or problem with
Thunderbird instead of Ubuntu. I posted this same
