After my update yesterday the Elantech touchpad mouse is dead in Ubuntu.
Even my solution above does not help anymore. It happens in Linux
2.6.31-14-generic #48 as bad as in 2.6.31-15 generic.
Even on a terminal (while X11 is down) I cannot get any input from it. E.g.

how to do so - there's no evdev.c on this system. Build-essentials is

I suppose I could see if I could find a replacement memory stick cheaply

Yup, during recording, even at 160x120 pixels, processor on Dell
Inspiron 9300 with 1.7GHz Centrino goes to 100% and frames are dropped.
We also have Acer Aspires that show the same effect. This processor
hogging seemed to happen along with the upgrade to Karmic Koala. Thx.

I have a solution for this bug, not a good one though.
I had two harddisks. One connected on SATA and hosting my Ubuntu, the
other connected on IDE and hosting a windows os. The windows disk was
recently producing bad vibrations (literally), so I had to remove it to

I can confirm that the process of removing, then re-inserting the
dvb_bt8xx kernel module works for me with i386 Ubuntu 9.04 and a Nebula

Just tried it, it is still a problem in karmic. I noticed that g-p-m has
nothing to do with it (running gnome-screensaver-command --lock has
the same effect as hitting CTRL-ALT-L).

I can confirm that that Forward icon doesn't entirely resemble the Reply
icon. Evoution Bug #534312 added that icon.

I'm not sure that original change was ever intended to fix this issue.
g_app_info_should_show() returns TRUE or FALSE based on the combinations
of the OnlyShowIn and NotShowIn keys in the desktop file, and the
current desktop environment. This change hides all applications that
have OnlyShowIn
