Not sure what I did.
I was trying to read mails in evolution , the pointer was very close to

Having rebuilt my Karmic AMD64 machine three times in the last week
because of this problem, I was on the verge of going back to Jaunty.

failed to install, then later something else popped up saying that it
had failed to install and it gave me the option to make a bug report.
