updates!) should be the best way of knowing when a fix is officially
committed - packages containing it should appear fairly soon afterwards.
If there's any critical patch added to the kernel, you would need to
rebuild it
I can confirm this, I saw it in an install of natty-daily on 2011-03-30,
just prior to beta1. Very visible scrollbars around the slideshow image.
The installer looks *stunning* right up to that point!

Since (1) it seems that you didn't actually suffer from this bug, but rather
from bug 729870 instead, (2) no one else has confirmed this bug, (3) it stopped
affecting me, and (4) it has not
