I have found a work-a-round for this issue using xrandr and changeing
the primary monitor.
This changes primary montor to the DVI-monitor:
xrandr --output DVI-0 --primary
And this back to the VGA-monitor:
xrandr --output VGA-0 --primary
xrandr without arguments reports the names of the monitors:
The bug is not in PulseAudio; but PulseAudio accesses the sound card in
a way that exposes a bug in the chipset (probably). When I say "never" I
mean that it always works successfully even if PulseAudio is installed.

Alacarte deselects the show option

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: alacarte
when I tried to create a new menu it appeared in Alacarte under the
Applications menu but when I enabled the show option then after about 5
seconds it would deselect itself.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04
Package: alacarte 0.13.2-1
Given the number of users reporting this as a problem, I'm raising this
to an importance of Medium. While it is just "cosmetic", it seems
fundamental to accessibility.
** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu)
Importance: Low => Medium

literally, to my neck.
The "best" option I have now
I've been trying to fix this for a while, but can't reproduce it on my
end. Is this issue reproducible for you?

Hi Timo, Chase, and David,
I am not sure you are using the correct CTM's. Hopefully the ones I
have posted here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1656089 are
correct.
But I agree with you Chase and that the original bug should be patched
so evdev can again swap and invert axes. I belie
libva appears to be broken in Natty. I downgraded back to the libva
pacakges from 10.10 and VLC works with hardware once again.

The double-click has an alternative - you right-click to focus a
workspace and bring it to the front in one step. But as I commented on
in the duplicate, this causes the right click to execute an action,

I take your point, Josh, but it is easier for me to leave 11.04 on my
machine and use the 173 driver than it is to reinstall a previous
version of the OS.
If I was to do that I would tend to go back to the last LTS version, and
without looking, I just bet I've lost all the "howto" notes I made
