While the original bug has been solved for me, I have discovered a side
effect of this patch: The bootsplash won't go back into graphical when
shutting down Ubuntu. I wasn't aware this until this morning after I had
reboot. Now I will try reinstalling it, but I guess it's still

of working on lots of files after rebooting without seeing the problem only

i read somewhere about modifying the dsdt something, but i don't really
understand it, tried but didn't work. the shortcut alt+f3 works fine

Since the screen also goes dark when resuming from suspend or other
purposes, and rc.local doesn't get run at that time, I've also added the
relevant setpci command to root's crontab, to be executed every minute.
That way, the screen isn't black for more than a minute.
Same for me. It would be really great to also have a working kernel for
ubuntu 11.10.

working in qeeqie anymore.

Hotkey fn+f2 i supposed to toggle wifi on/off. That's the way it was
working on ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04.
I have updated from 11.04 to 11.10. When wifi is toggled on at startup,
i can connect to wireless network. If i toggled it off and then on
again, network manager says

certain that it ever ran on this computer. I have a mixed Gnome/K
install (started with kubuntu a long time ago) and have a lot of issues
