I am also experiencing this problem. The UI freezes and banshee uses
100% CPU (in one or more threads since CPU usage goes as high as 150% on

Would it be possible to simply add a warning for small root partitions?
Just set a fixed soft minimum like 5GB, and if the size is less than
that warn the user that they may run into problems. That way people who

This might be a documentation bug since older versions allowed drag
without alt. I spent a good while trying to figure this out.
Maybe a mention of this should be put somewhere in the release notes or

I can confirm that is problem exists on current Feisty (as of 2007 03
17). I am using a Compaq Presario R3000z with a NVidia Geforce 440 Go
using the nvidia proprietary driver.
However I cannot predictable reproduce it using the method in the

I am experiencing similar problems on an AMD64 Laptop: Compaq R3000z. It
has a 1280x800 LCD panel and a GeForce4 420 Go.

Multimedia keys on Compaq R3000z
I booted using the Edgy Knot 1 CD and had the same problem.
However I looked at the partition list and saw what was wrong: There is
a zero length partition (partition 7) that overlaps with another
partition (number 6). I deleted partition 7 and it solved the problem.
It looks like parted needs

Parted gives an error trying to read a partition table the fdisk can
read without problems. Below is the output of fdisk and parted. I will
