I think I'm affected by a similar issue. In my case i use USB audio speakers.
Each time I select them as an output device - yes they work, but constantly the
following messages are logged:
Jul 9 14:42:04 NUC-desktop kernel: [ 3413.003020] retire_playback_urb: 820
callbacks suppressed
Jul 9
Is there any update on this bug? I've just installed the kernel
3.13.0-29 and the issue is still there...

I believe I'm affected by this...
Yesterday I upgraded from 13.10 to 14.04 and I noticed that. To be honest, I've
had the same issue with 13.10, though I didn't have the time to dig into it.
What's described here, matches my problem. Here're some outputs from my system:
$lsb_release -rd
I was not able to attach the crash file... the page doesn't let me...

It seems like I'm affected by this bug too. I'm using Dell Studio 1555
with an ATI Radeon Mobility video card. The fglrx driver is installed.
What shall I do in order to collect more information about this crash?
It seems that this issue is quite an old one... Is there any
development?

A couple of weeks ago I installed the Catalyst ATI driver, which I downloaded
from the AMD's site. I followed the instructions on this site:

I've been playing around with the ATI FGLRX driver lately. It's
definitely related to the issue. When I remove the driver the issue
disappears. I'll try also the open-source ATI drivers.

Public bug reported:
The system doesn't shut down properly. Each time I get a message like:
Kernel Oops - BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request
I can not figure out a way to copy the whole message as this is at the very
moment of shutting down process and my keyboard isn't active.

I forgot... I'm running kernel 3.0.0-17 and Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100
Series. I've installed the video driver that was offered to me from the
Additional Drivers application. I guess that it's the standard one...
