Steps to reproduce on my DELL XPS M1330 laptop:
- Put the laptop is suspend mode
IF the suspend fails (which happens) from time to time THEN
- Press power button during 5 sec to switch the laptop off (no other
possibility)
- Unplug your power cable so that your laptop uses battery power
- Turn the

to suspend failure (and hard reboot) and I think that hard-disk checking
step is skipped when the laptop is using battery power.
Maybe mounting in read/write mode fails, causing the filesystems to be
mounted in read only mode
What makes me think this is the fact that if I boot in safe mode and ask
for disk checking (fsck.jfs), then reboot. Everything will be back to
normal (although still on battery power).

I already tried to talk upstream into it but they would not agree. They
consider this is a bug of our BIOSes and not in the kernel. Also,
speedstep-centrino is deprecated in the kernel and will probably

I have just tried Intrepid alpha6 LiveCD:
My wireless is still not working. I have tried with 2 different routers,
one using WPA2 encryption, and the other is an hotspot, without any
encryption. None worked. Look like we can rule out encryption as a
problem.
Apparently, authentication is success
I have tested alpha6 using the LiveCD and I get this error in daemon.log :
