Screen size on dual
After latest round of updates (including a kernel), I am seeing this
too. My laptop seems to be running sluggish and also the CPU fan is
churning a lot more than normal.

I believe that this may still be an issue with the mini.iso image. I
installed 11.10 to my Dell mini 9, using the mini.iso image and used a
wired connection to download the install packages etc. Afterwards, my
/etc/network/interfaces config had eth0 listed and nm was unable to
manage the connecti

I can't upload the crash file, although it seems to get updated every
time the launcher crashes. When I try, I get a dialog saying 'No such
file or directory' and no output to the terminal.
Is there anything in that crash file that is sensitive or can I attach
it here?

Also, when you choose to shutdown, the launcher disappears, but the
machine does not shutdown. I have to bring up a terminal (via alt+F2)

I am trying to upgrade from Gutsy to Intrepid from a machine that
normally updates via an approx server. When I start the upgrade, it
alerts me that it has disabled my third-party repositories and then
comments them all out in sources.list and adds one official mirror with
main in it.

I used the 7.10 mini.iso and found that I could use my local apt mirror
(in my LAN). When you are given the screen to choose your mirror (based
on country) there is the custom option at the very top of the list.
I don't think this bug is a bug!

mini iso doesn't allow for manual entry of repo
I have some experience with python and would love to give it a stab.
I don't generally have much spare time but I am sure I can give try.
I just don't know the process for submitting the code and getting it
all approved and stuff. I guess that is where your mentoring would
come in?

I try doing that, but when I add the URL in that file, it still
doesn't show in the drop box where I expect it to in Software Sources.

Unfortunately, I ended up swapping my mobo out before it got fixed I

I have the MGE AVR UPS (running on USB). I have conversed with you in
the past regarding packages for managing this UPS under linux, however,
I recently found out that g-p-m should manage it all just fine too.

Hi,
It has been a while since there were any updates to this bug and also it
is yet to be triaged. Given Ben suggested staying with the 386 kernel I
am curious as to when a new version will be available without the sound
issues.

I just updated from Breezy to Dapper and have come across this issue.
The Dapper upgrade has installed the 2.6.15.26-386 kernel image and
since then, the computer is almost unusable at initial bootup and the
Ubuntu drums continually repeat.
Once the repeating stops, the PC returns to normal perfor
And for the record, I am using a Jetway V2DP motherboard.
