I really don't think this bug is a duplicate of Bug #888633 since the
main problem there seems to be directly linked to a resolution pattern
while here the problem persists even if the resolution is really
As I filed on bug Bug #880271 I think the problem lies in the v4l
library, which you can update as follows:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libv4l
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libv4l-0 libv4l-dev
In my case it solved all my problems (cheese, gst-launch-0.10) except

working right, so, when i ordered to stop the scan, effectly the scanner

Disconnecting the AC adapter cable seems to force the update of the
battery status. I'm going to take a guess and say something like It
seems it isn't polling the battery
FYI, the driver on Windows 7 has an option which says Enable
promiscuous mode (?on a 3G pen?) which, after enabled, results on the
same behavior as if one does ifconfig usb0 arp on Linux.

This can be reproduced easily.
This happens every time you try to disconnect from networ using a gsm
connection.
It can also reproduced using a virtualbox machine with a Host-only
networking after starting the virtual machine, a network is added if you try
