windows drivers for a Toshiba C850 -F21E laptop with a Realtek Wireless
adapter which works in Windows 7.
When I try to install the driver it gives an error message saying the

I can confirm that Grub only installs on hdo and provides not other
options in the Lucid RC installer. I detects the Win7 drive , then
changes the mbr so that win7 does not work and resets the computer if
chosen. Choosing a linux kernel in grub works but win7 not.

Was continuing the testing today whilst working and saw that the mouse
is frozen but the keyboard was still working. Attached xorg.old. The
mouse is a normal microsoft 3 button mouse.
Only way to fix is to restart or shutdown with switch off button on
computer.

Yes Jonathan. I use the 180.35 driver which is in Jaunty and it crashes during
boot after log in.
Also, the driver does not load correctly with the the 2.6.28.8 kernel first
boot line. I have to load with the recovery line by pressing resume normal boot.

crashes the whole day. I think the Plasma crashes was caused by some of
the widgets. I know there is a definite problem with Anakondi

The problem with open office is not the same driver problem reported here.
OOO2.4 and OOO3.0 call a specific font which is sometimes missing in the
system. I fixed the problem in Ubuntu by going to the
system-preferences-appearance-fonts and changing the fonts there. It worked

Hallo Chris, what is a locale?
I checked the -l10n packages and have 3 installed. common, en and za
language support.
I also upgraded the system today to openoffice 3.0 to see if it will
help and the same problem still exist. It works correctly on all my
other 5 computers with both 2.4 and 3.0

I have now installed the 27.8 kernel with the pci=nomsi boot option. The
standard kernel goes through the motions and then shuts the monitor down
in Kubuntu. It works in Ubuntu and with the recovery option.
The system is using the nvidia 177.80 driver and the standard kernel in
Kubuntu does not

After todays updates, I ran a test with the pclinuxos newsletter file
and it still crashes with many instances of Konquerere trying to open in
a unending loop.

When sendmail server is changed, the old setup is not replaced and it
still tries to send on the old set up although the new setup is in the

The fault trace says it is soffice.bin which is crashing. So think it should
stay with openoffice.org.
Wish somebody would do something about this bug. It really annoying.

Chris, I use Kubuntu and ran your procedure after switching on apport.
It comes back with crash report is damaged.
Same happens if I try to run backtrace after crash.
Do I need to install or enable anything else?

Yes Chris, The bug was introduced with the new download I got yesterday
which is the version you mentioned.
I tested it again and is happened with all the modules of open office
when I close them.
Please also see crash handler below which I ran.
