I installed Ubuntu server 17.10 on a freshly formatted disk. During the
install I was asked to configure the wired interface. Ok
After that I installed the meta-package ubuntu-desktop and re-booted. No

that's right. I press ALT-TAB to get evolution to the first plan, but I
press it several times rapidly before screenshot appears, so that I get
evolution on the first plan, then the gdb terminal, then evolution, then
the terminal, etc ... may be 5 or 6 cycles before screenshot window
appears.

now, each time I install a package, apt tries to configure fcheck.
For example, (see the below copy/paste ), I installed the package yelp-dbgsym
(first line below):

I used GDB (apport seems more complicated to use).
I had to run gnome-panel-screenshot 14 times before the application
crashes.
You'll find in the attachment the trace of the last (fourteenth!) gnome-
panel-screenshot run.
Sorry but I don't know how to install the debug symbols for this
I just install the fcheck utility:

1 - I edited /etc/X11/xorg.conf, changed DefaultDepth from 24 to 16.
2 - Logged out.
3 - ctrl-alt-backspace to restart X.
Now the progress bar is visible!

It is simply what you told me: the version of hubackup I have (0.0.2)
has the bug I opened, and the solution is to upgrade to 0.0.6, but
before I would need to upgrade my linux to Edgy.

I want let you know that I decided to install the 159 updates for Ubuntu
5.10. There was about 163Mbytes od data. May be this will help for
preparing for upgrading to Ubuntu 6.06 (and maybe the upgrade will be
shorter?)
