This is similar to Bug #842566, but with an additional issue.
When openinf LibreOffice, Window Controls do not appear on mouse-over in
the Unity Top-Menu Bar.
Also the LibreOffice window header is lost beneath the Unity Bar

When you did full install, did your system default to Unity 2D or Unity
3D?
If your system defaults to Unity 2D, which is wrong as your integrated
graphics supports at least OpenGL 3

packages solved the problem for me as well.

cd?
In my case it booted normally, and only failed using the integrated
Intel graphics after installation.
If you can confirm that too, it has to be a bug in the installer.

is a setting affecting the default function of the "Function" key?
I had a similar problem on my Dell laptop and as it turns out a BIOS
switch was toggled that reversed the default function of the Fn key.
