I did not install the image, just ran it from the USB stick.
By default, it does not not have a login screen, since there is a single
user, I believe.
I added a second user, and logged in to that user, which was successful.
But this may be different from what I see on my long-installed system.

My notes on setting enable_rc6 aren't very good.
I may have started using it as a possible way to extend battery life, as

Not sure how Ian was able to work around this. On a fresh install of
Kubuntu 18.04 and a fresh install of Remmina, the only option available
is Quick Connect. I suspect I'd have more options /once I was able to
connect/, such as remembering the connection, but it won't let you do
that when it's fai
Found out for me, that if GNOME uses scaling 200% the installer crashed
at loading of the images which say Welcome to Ubuntu, etc. Try using a
100% DISPLAY scaling and no issues during installing.

alternatives to undo the redirection of for x86_64-linux-
gnu_{gl,egl}_conf) restores normal function (e.g. lightdm's greeter no

mostly working under 4.10.0-42-generic, but once I got the
4.13.0-26-generic update my system now stutters to the point that it is

There is a patch filed against Debian 737679 that fixes the problem. If
it doesn't make it through Debian in time, can Ubuntu pick up this patch
for the next LTS? It would be a shame for another two years to go by and
not have proper IPv6 support.
