Just to confirm: I am still no longer experiencing the original problem

Many thanks for looking into this, I think it could be a major
irritation for a lot of people. After using Intrepid for a while now, I
am now convinced the second issue is the root cause of the first
issue I mentioned at the beginning. Sorry for the confusion!

* Unplugged the USB mouse.
* Restarted the X Server with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace
* Logged on, and waited for things to settle down.
* Plugged the mouse back in.

I have also run into this problem, after upgrading to Hardy from a fresh
installation of Gutsy (64-bit). The mouse is completely unresponsive.
Interesting to know that getting rid of the InputDevice sections cures
the problem - I will give that a try.

I did have libxine1-ffmpeg installed (1.1.4-2ubuntu3), but not
libxine1-plugins
So I've tried installing the latter, which has now added:

I have this problem too. When I play a video using democracyplayer,
usually I can't hear any audio, but the video looks OK. But if I play
the downloaded file with Totem, the movie plays just fine. I did my
testing after moving the .democracy folder out of the way, as requested
by Chris Halse
All works fine for me now. Many thanks to Ben Collins and the rest of
the Kernel team - you've done a great job in somewhat difficult
circumstances! :-)

I'm afraid I've also been bitten by this upgrade. I have a 3-year-old
GeForce4 Ti 4200 card, and I've just found out nVidia have dropped
support for this card in their latest drivers. After installing the
latest feisty updates, the X server would not start.

I've only just started using Evolution (was using Thunderbird before).

this problem with default new-user settings, but I think that's because

I was just about to report this as a bug, too! If I size my Name column
properly, and browse some other folders in the same window, it remembers
the width I set. But if I select View as Icons, and then switch back
to View as List, it forgets the width!
