I was running 12.04 with the KDE 4.92 backports just fine. I decided to
test out the latest Mesa using oibaf graphic drivers PPA which usually
contains Mesa from master (9.1). After installing this I got the issue

I get this same issue in KDE when using kde-telepathy's chat program or
when using Empathy in KDE. However, it does not occur under Unity.

I can confirm this is affecting me on 12.10 as well. I have edited my
XDG_PICTURES_DIR (.config/user-dirs.dir) to use a different folder: ~/My

import as over time I had accidentally ended up with two Photo folders

Just given it a test run and so far I have not experienced the issue so

The integration with the clock indicator (is that what it is called?)
makes sense to me but I would like to stress the importance of be able
to easily see that I am "on the clock". Waiting 27 minutes for a bubble
to pop-up and remind me is not the most optimal when I just want to
check at a glance.
Just confirming that Robert's xorg packages (2ubuntu7~xup2) have fixed
the issue I mentioned in #564636. So far no stability issues. I will
report back on whether it fixes the ATI GPU issue when I get the chance
to test that.

Hi Bryce,
Before the 11th I had not updated for more than a week (was away from
the system for a while) on the Intel laptop. The issue may have been
there for the Intel earlier and I did not notice it. I only picked it up
recently as I was resizing Firefox with many tabs on a large (1900x1080)

I've tested with KDE4 Kwin on my Vaio CR (Intel) as well now and can
confirm I get the same issue I described with compiz. Seems to take more
effort though as I could not get Dolphin to cause the issue when
resizing its window very quickly but System Settings' Appearance started

I can now confirm the same bug occurs on an Acer Aspire 5738z with an Intel GMA

Should probably have mentioned that this issue was not occurring a
couple weeks ago (on either the Intel or Ati gpu) but started once I
updated the systems on Sunday (Apr 11) I think. It does not occur on
