As packaged in 12.04, bsnes by default uses alsa for audio. However, as
Ubuntu comes configured with pulse, pulse should be the default. Without
choosing pulse on Ubuntu the sound becomes choppy and slows the
emulation down.

Well this sucks. I upgraded to Oneiric, which left me using the broken
GStreamer backend to Phonon. Now in Amarok, MP3's restart playback from
the beginning when I press pause, and streams (like shoutcast) no longer
have song metadata show up.

In Karmic, both the file command, and the Fileinfo pecl extension for
PHP (5.2.10) are broken.
Instead of returning the proper mime info, they return application
/octet-stream.
