The Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS release is using a buggy wget command. It is
1.12, while the version that fixes the following problem is 1.13.
The bug is if you try to reach a website using https, trying first to
reach the site with www and non-www. It will claim:

I found that I can use it reliably without this DBus error, but only if

I have Ubuntu 8.04.1, kernel 2.6.24-19-generic (Hardy Heron) and am in
the USA. I have installed the 386 version instead of the AMD64 version
(my laptop is an AMD64 laptop). When I use Firefox that comes with
Ubuntu, the spell checker works inconsistently. On contractions

this, Ubuntu wanted to do a kernel update. Talk about timing. So I made
those changes, then ran the kernel update. On a reboot, my system hung
up. However, in my boot menu, I noticed I had 5 options instead of the
usual 3.
Oh, as well, when you do the update-grub command, it says leave file as
is (the default) or use package maintainer's version. I chose package
maintainer's version because I figured that was the proper thing to do.
Anyway, I went looking back through the grub stuff and didn't find
anything about
I have this problem on an Acer Extensa 4420 laptop with Ubuntu 8.04
(regular version, not AMD64 version). The Fn+F2 doesn't do anything no

Suspend and Hibernate Do Not Work. When I close the laptop lid and have

All the above commands thus far in this thread I have typed. None of
them print out anything about the Bluetooth. When I toggle the Bluetooth
button on the laptop and try again, I still get no Bluetooth when typing
the commands above and piping to 'grep -i bluetooth'.
