variant of the xorg-server from kubuntu-precise 12.04.1 to the quantal backport
before (update of quantal-kernel was no problem). But it resulted in a
DEFECTIVE xserver installation with only black screen after reboot

Ah, I must have somehow gotten into the wrong repo, there were only
three packages in there.
Now I can confirm that this bug is fixed for me on Intel i5 2500k, HD
3000, intel_drv.so 2.20.9, Ubuntu 12.10+Kubuntu backports PPA
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so belongs to xserver-xorg-
vide
Unfortunately, the mentioned backports PPA does not contain KDE 4.9.3 for 12.10
(quantal), yet.
So I can not test it.
Ubuntu changelog does not mention any patches related to KWin, though.

After upgrading to quantal, my brother hl-5240 laser printer has stopped
working properly. Some files will print, but many won't. It doesn't seem
to be application specific - some documents in libreoffice work, some
don't, some pdfs work, some don't. But a broken file is alway

The session files are saved only for programs like Gedit. Programs like
Chrome do not get saved on the session at logout.
And NOTHING is restored upon logon, even though all dconf and gconf
related settings are enabled.
This is pretty bad. Everyone gets this right EXCEPT Ubuntu Unity (and
Ubunt
exported GNOME_SESSION_SAVE variable in bashrc, which IS read during
startup, unfortunately it doesn't work.
I just might have to table Ubuntu. That's so very sad.

Thing says Fix Released for precise. Why do I not see the bug fixed
after installing updates? How can I see the version number of which
package that releases the fix, or the changelog of the gnome-session
package?

To reproduce this youll have to have minecraft the game. anyways once
you have it join a server named Seductivecraft the ip is
Mc.seductivecraft.com when inside the server walk into The town Darkstar
or warp via /Warp Darkstar and walk around.

I should mention that this bug has nothing to do with VMWare (as the
