I was running 3.2.0-1411.14, did the apt-get upgrade, rebooted. Shutdown
of 1411 went fine, but the boot of 1412 took somewhat longer than
usual (maybe 30 secs longer). After the GUI login, the Oops notification
popped up. So I assume the issue happened in 3.2.0-1412.15.

Ok, after two years there is a BIOS update with small changes. But they
don't refer to interrupt settings. Will try it later this week.
BTW, I just tried Knoppix v7 with Kernel 3.2.4 and e1000e driver version
1.5.1-k. This does not show the issue. It seems newer driver versions
have a solution
