yeah the problem should exist in 11.10, because they use an older version of
XFCE that has the bug i have described above upstream...
It seems no one cares to fix it, here though the solution is very easy...
Anyway the fix i have described in my post #27 (

behaviour", as all the other distroes i use (Mandriva, Gentoo, SuSe, Fedora) do
poweroff after issuing an /sbin/halt command...
Actually Oneiric doesn't honour the user preferences poweroff flag (set

1. 'exo-preferred-applications' is part of XFCE4 and is installed
because by default Ubuntu installs 'xfce4-terminal' that depends on the
'exo-utils' package. Actuall

I am sorry but using the current PPA for Karmic
(https://launchpad.net/~openshot.developers/+archive/ppa) totally breaks the
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg and thus makes video play in any gstreamer player unusable
(including thumbnail creation of videos in nautilus).
