tp-smapi-dkms: tp_smapi not loaded
Sorry, but I can not upgrade to natty for various reasons, so I can not test
this bug with natty.
It would be hard to reproduce it anyway, if at all:
- the GPU driver will change from VESA to intel with the upgrade.
- I still don't know how to reproduce this for sure.
But the situation improved
The process mentioned in comment #3 is kondemand/2
There is no day without at least 1-3 crashes and with every crash I'm loosing a
few minutes of work. Please have a look at this problems. Thanks!

I've missed some information which might be relevant:
- I'm using a dual display setup
- I can restart Xorg with kill -9 PID but not with kill, kill -2, kill -14 or
kill -15
- Xorg only uses about 90% CPU time, 10% are used by an other process which
name I will report as soon as xorg hangs

I installed maverick on the above mentioned T60. Networkmanager shows me
between 6-54 Mbit/s (and it recovers back to 48-54 Mbit/s even if it showed
6Mbit/s before). Download speeds with synaptic are at ~2500kbyte/s, as
expected.
Maybe it's because I'm ruining my AP with 802.11a/g (5Ghz) only?

Donny: Thank you for sharing your experience with me, but you got me wrong:
lucid (Kernel 2.6.32) doesn't support the *powermanagment for Radeon GPUs* very
well (if you're using KMS).
My own T60 with Mobile Radeon X1400 takes about 18 watts with an installed
lucid but only 12 watts with maverick
I have a ThinkPad T60 here for installation, it has a 3945ABG and a Mobile
Radeon X1300.
Just checked the maverick release notes because the lucid kernel doesn't
support the Radeon power-management (at least not very well)
So I can choose between low network speed or high power consumption.
I could lately fix this problem by deactivating the energy saving option for
the corresponding LAN port in the Router/Modem/Switch/AP-Box (AVM FritzBox
3270, FW: 96.04.80).
Since I have no other operating system installed I unfortunately can not say if
this is a problem with the FritzBox or if
and it's dependencies
- removed the skype repro
- reinstalled skype and it's dependencies from partner repro
Was this really necessary to keep my installation clean and prober? How
is this (conflict?) case resolved if it is not done manually?

lucid, just saying process is King without any further arguments isn't enough
to solve a problem.
And it's the truth that there is a problem with SM in Ubuntu:
- SM 2.0.0 was released on 27. oct 09, 2 days before carmic

Since SM 2.0 is out since month, lucid definitly should ship the newer version!
-SM 1.1.17 isn't up to date. The last 1.1 is 1.1.19
-SM 1.1 at all is completely outdated since at least 1/2 year. There are many
unfixed security issues and we won't see any fixes.
What won't happen? SM 2.0 in lucid?
Yes I know there is nearly now chance because feature freeze is reached. But
what is the alternative? Shipping SM 1.1.x for the next 3 years? I think it's
better not shipping SM at all. That's my point.

I can confirme this bug/missing feature.
Also I don't know the status of gui support for nfs in later ubuntu
releases, i suggest setting the severity to high since this maybe an
criticial cirteria for buisness enviroments and an major problem for
usability.
