Just because it's convenient. I like the minimalism, GlobalMenu saves
space on my desktop, and I do not want to see same menus in the windows.

tried is affected by this bug. For example nautilus:

I confirm this bug with todays updates. It affects probably most of
other GNOME programs. I tried epiphany, gnome-terminal, and update-
manager and all of them fail, which makes them unusable over ssh. Is
there some way to start the gconf manually?
