I attempted to run with the proprietary NVIDIA drivers shut off, but still got crashes. It is possible as beefcurry wrote that the crashes were less frequent, but I can't swear to it. I haven't been able to discern a pattern in the crashing, so I'm uncertain if there was a change in it.

I have been having this difficulty since 8.04 upgrade as well. I'm also on an hp tc1100 tablet pc with 1.5 Gb ram. I have been using the proprietary NVIDIA drivers. I just disabled them and will post back if there is no success with that. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
