This is easy to demonstrate with the new text-reflowing: you can see
that the logical text-size is changed and text is reflowed (so the

Thank you Simon and Seth, for your quick response. I have looked into
this further by installing a virgin Ubuntu Server 20.04 with SSH.
Changing the 'Port' in /etc/ssh/sshd_config to 7722 starts sshd on port
7722 and NOT on port 22, just like you said, Simon. BUT:
Rename sshd_config to
solution: Remove the accumulative behavior for 'Port' and
REQUIRE the 'Port' parameter like before (and maybe have second and
later parameters override the earlier ones, like 'everyone else').

Yes, I can get to a login terminal on run level 3. I can run dmesg, but

I'm relatively new to linux so I'm not sure how important it is to be on
the latest kernel, but I can't go past version -38.

I'm sorry I can't, I require virtualbox almost constantly, and also use
nvidia drivers... and according to the instructions provided, I'll need
to uninstall both.
This is my main work machine, can't really play around with things on
it.
I've removed the -39 kernel for now.

Thanks for looking into this. Unfortunately I'm no longer using octave,
so I can't report on this anymore. If I am the only one who reported on
this, I would assume that it was indeed a misconfigured system that
caused it and consider this bug resolved.

It's a pity you did not include the version number for abcde.
I'm using v2.5.4 and I came across the same problem for a particular CD.
One of the titles is Barcarolle op.65 n°6 (extrait du Troisème receuil
de chants).
My rather large collection is old: I started using id3v2.3 with latin1
encoded
I made changes to my /etc/apt/sources.list using a website that
generates this file for you. I noticed that whenever I select South
Africa as my country a lot of errors of this sort occur, but when I
switch to another country like USA or UK everything seems fine.

alike) and two NFS servers: one 12.04 (with this problem) and one 10.10

nfs4 mounts are not mapping
Evolution's excellent addressbook hasn't been working well for more than
a year now, starting with 11.04. The 'crowd' must have moved over to
Thunderbird, or what else could be the reason for such a low priority
for this annoying bug? Any Android user would love to have this working!

explaining. So, I asked myself: Why does seahorse have this
myname%40gmail@gmail.com? Should that domain name be there twice?
So, I used seahorse to edit google://myname%40gmail@gmail.com into
google://myname@gmail.com
Disappointment! The problem is back after a reboot. The edited URL in
seahorse (google://myname@gmail.com) is NOT the solution...

No Audio on Asus A3Ac laptop. Ubuntu 10.10
This morning, I had a working NFS set-up on an 10.04 server with 10.10
clients. After upgrading the server to 10.10, I had this problem as
well. Setting NEED_STATD=no and NEED_IDMAPD=yes on BOTH ends fixes it,
indeed. Thanks a lot for the info!
And... yes! I would have appreciated a default
Volume control works correctly (on my machines, at least) in Maverick
Meerkat (Ubuntu 10.10 with kernel 2.6.35-22).

This problem also occured with a 10.04 release, run from CD. I did not
fully install yet, because the moment my Ubuntu works, I'll wipe 'that
other OS' from my laptop and start afresh with an Ubuntu only laptop.

The gnome-shell black window is not filling both screens. So there are
sides which are not used. It sounds that when attaching an extra
monitor, gnome-shell is not adjusting the total screen size
