Firefox randomly loses window decoration in Gnome Classic (Compiz)

I updated to 13.10 a while back and have run into new problems with this
fix.
First, if I continue to run emerald with compiz in xubuntu every time a
window is closed and then reopened it grows a few pixels both
horizontally and vertically. Switching back to gtk-window-decorator
solves this
I have reason to believe that this issue is now resolved for me with
Linux 3.8.0-31, which appears to be the healthiest kernel so far without
resorting to trying the mainline kernel.
After already a number of boot-ups, I'm pleased to say that I've not
suffered from any black screen of death

v3.8.0-31.
Battery is now showing 100% when fully charged.

Today I tried booting up again and it went back to the black screen of
death with nothing more than a blinking cursor in the top left corner.

I don't think that this is a gpsbabel bug. Versions of gpsbabel that
shipped with Lucid show the same bug. Unfortunately, syslog and messages
don't provide any information. I suspect that it is either a bug in the
usb to serial driver or the kernel. If anyone can tell me how I can
provide more

I have found a fix but you guys may not like it I turned on my on board
sound and then disabled it in WIndows 7 and disables the Creative labs
in Ubuntu and now have sound Had to select the on board sound in sound
preferences but it works great.

Thanks for the feedback. Attached is the information you requested. The
computer has a static ip address of 192.168.0.30. It has bind9
installed, which is configured the same as my primary DNS server, which
it will eventually replace. The computer 192.168.0.32 is my secondary
