The explanation I gave is pretty clear
the top 2 entries in the grub boot menu had an odd name including "kvm" in it.
Since those 2 weren't there before I have to assume the Ubuntu "upgrade" process

As I stated a "clean install" of 22.04 everything works.
On an "upgrade" is where chroup2 gets screwed up.

I think your problem was the same mistake I made cloning a disk.
When you reinstall the new disk you need to create a new UUID for it and
then edit /etc/fstab and change the new disks UUID to that.
check:
$ more /etc/fstab
and see if you have a duplicate UUID listed

Just heard from a Reddit zfs thread inquery I made that the fix for grub
& zfs is aleady in 16.10 & will make it into 16.04 in perhaps a month..

Thx but so far I and others are installing Ubuntu 16.04 root on zfs and it runs
ok.
I think I even included the zfsonlinux guide in the orig report.
I think the only real problem I've had is this issue with grub-pc not
parsing ZFS disks "by-id".

I created an OpenStack "instance" of ubuntu 14.04.
I installed juju on that "instance" and configured it for Local Provider (re
lxc).
I then bootstrapped and deployed Juju-GUI which s
~/Downloads seem like the HD that had been my working drive
EXCEPT for the Serial Number was changed.!!
Again, I restored Grub to the only HD that wouldn't boot, Rebooted and
all my most recently missing files were back.
I now think this is what has been happening to me with my sy

Here is some more info. I created a 2nd KVM VM using the same ubuntu 13.10
desktop .ISO and all default virt-manager settings
once the new VM (called test) was created again there was no Audio.
So I checked:
/var/log/libvirt/qemu/test.log file and found: QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=none

I'd just use the 12.10 disk when needed.
It worked okay until a sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upg
As more FYI it might just be a Microsoft problem.. the following
thread is recent and the people are using microsoft clients and servers

You know I wish I can figure out (under Unity) how better to capture some of
this. Unfortunately, things I used to be able to do in previous ubuntu
under gnome 2 don't seem to be so easy now under Unity.
