As I recall, Empathy feels the world should be fixed. This would be
nice, but it is a long ways off. So, yes, they have switched the
default IM to empathy, which has no real plans to support encryption

After doing some research, this may be related to the type of jack used
on this machine. It has a combined headphone/microphone jack that
requires a special adapter for the microphone to work. We will order an
adapter and try with that.

Not sure if it is related or not, but there are several other sound issues with
this system:
* plugging in headphones does not mute the main speakers

...and when I sudo this by hand, I get:

I ran the following SQL-statement under the MySQL-root user:
UPDATE mysql.user SET Password=PASSWORD([The password found in
/etc/mysql/debian.cnf]) WHERE User=debian-sys-maint;
And after I flushed the privileges, the update of 5.1 was successful.

When the notebook is connected to the docking station via the expansion
cable, sound is not routed through the docking station but continues to

mythbuntu live frontend dies if timezone is different on client than server
