Hi, I tried all the mentioned kernels on my lenovo ideapad gaming 3 and

I am using Ubuntu 20.10 with terminator 1.92 and KDE Plasma. I found
this solution that works for my computer:
Open im-config on command-line:
im-config
Select yes to select the configuration.

Sorry for not adding sufficient information.
However the issue is fixed now.
I uninstalled and reinstalled my dgpu drivers and now everything is fine.

record a video now as I don't have the issue anymore.

I was having the same problem with a old Dell Optiplex desktop and
10.04.3 LTS i386 even after checking md5sums. The problems was that I
was using a rewritable CD (only those were handy). Solution was to use a
standard CD-R and it worked like a charm.

I got this problem too.
I am using natty with unity interface. When I installed Gnome3, at the
start it failed to load other sessions (Unity, Classic, Desktop...) and
generated an error "Failed to load this session". Only gnome3 works for
me.
What's the best solution for this problem?

I am sorry for the delay, I had actually switched to pardus linux for a
while, I have reinstalled ubuntu 9.10 now and will upgrade the software
using software center soon, please let me know if I should lookout for
