after my yesterday's post of various files I updated the system (100MB
changes). The error persists. The monitor OSD is exactly the same as shown in
my original camera shot - it sees 1152x900 while the system believes it is
1024x768.
But since both kernel and intel video driver have
one more thing: I cold booted with both the VGA monitor (as before) plus
now also a US TV-set are attached.
The TV shows a clone of the vga in color (but in a horrible quality) and
does seem to show the full desktop.
During booting the vga monitor receives a 1024x768 signal, which is
switching

Joshua, your pdf shows the same effect. And worse. Here is what I have
and did:
Computer-1 runs Intrepid, and I used this one to upload your pdf file to
my ubuntuone folder using firefox 3.0.13. Goes smoothly and shows up
immediately. Trying to download it results in what is shown in the
after rebooting the karmic netbook the missing pdf showed up and could
be downloaded. But still the same error when using firefox

Error in thread: Me TV cannot process a line in the initial tuning file
The scan file isn't available initially, as the dvb-utils are not installed.
Furthermore, thos have been renamed to

thankfully it also advises to install dvb-apps, but why not simply make
it depend on it to install it together with me-tv? it only created
hurdles for those not familiar with linux/ubuntu.

This netbook runs well on wlan with Easy Peasy, and did before also with
Ubuntu 8.04. I have no wlan and can't get it activated with Jaunty

everything had been wiped out by the install of jaunty.

Update:
I used an *Hardy* Kubuntu Live CD on the same computer, and the webcam was
recognized by default. The picture under Cheese was correct with proper colors.
Possibly interesting note: The picture was color correct ONLY as long as the
light was rather dark. As soon as the camera looked
indeed I am using an existing backend, and several frontends, with back-
and frontends having gone through some changes from feisty to intrepid,
and always worked.
So, what is different with jaunty? Do I need to change settings on the
jaunty frontend? or on the intrepid backend? and if on the
Are we really talking about the same thing? All my clients are set to
the same UI theme G.A.N.T. And while all on intrepid (or previous
versions) are working fine, the jaunty install is not.
