My experience is that gshutdown works perfectly on my Jaunty computer
but does not work correctly on my Lucid computer.
On the Lucid computer it only closes the current users' session and goes
back to the user/password login prompt, instead of shutting down the
computer as expected.

I have come to the conclusion that these bugs/problems related to NOT
being able to properly fill-in information on forms on the IRS website
is NOT related to bugs/problems in either the Evince, Acroread, or full
version of Adobe Acrobat Reader programs but rather a bug/problem in the
FIREFOX brows
I am fairly sure that this bug has been present & reported for about 2
to 3 years now. Seems to me it is about time this was fixed.
Also, IMO, the importance of this needs to be HIGH not medium !!! Can't
even fill out a simple IRS form on-line without getting an error.

Are you referring to the sensors-detect command ? And if so, are you
rebooting computer subsequent to issuing the sensors-detect command
(that is after it has completed it's detection of sensors) and are you

the updates tab labeled as "unsupported updates - Gutsy- backports".
I then went back to update manager where it prompted me to do a partial
upgrade. And one of the 4 updates that was listed was a newer version

Yes, it displays "Original settings restored. Shutting down".
Apparently, this means that the original SUM settings have been restored
(which they indeed appear to have been by either going back in and
looking at the settings or by the behavior of the machine at restart).

I recently installed the release version of Intrepid on the P4G8X ASUS
motherboard computer and I still get the same error message.
If I can run Gutsy on this motherboard without getting this message,
then the integrity of Hardy and Intrepid is very doubtful in my mind.
This leads me to think that
By the way this is in Gutsy. I have another machine upstairs, that I
installed Intrepid on recently, I will check to see if this behavior in
present on it also.

would be glad to provide to you.

Why NO function on
Somehow, not exactly sure how, I got this solved.
After trying to get them to install several times, I finally got some
prompt regarding doing a partial upgrade. I chose to do that when the
prompt came up but during the process I was afraid that it was going to
upgrade me from Gutsy to Hardy (whi
Unsubscribing ubuntu-main-sponsors as there is currently nothing to
sponsor.
What does that mean ? It would be nice to give a PLAIN/COMMON
explanation instead of these type of messages.
If this is supposed to mean that this bug is fixed, then I beg to differ

Public bug reported:
When I attempt to download & install the latest 3 updates that are shown
as being available for my Ubuntu Gutsy O/S that are related to the HP
Linux printing system, I get an error message regarding file size
mismatch and the 3 updates are NOT subsequently installed.

It has been a while since I did any use of VNC, but when I get a chance
I will test this with the beta version of Intrepid (that is if I can
recall what all I did to setup VNC).
I will report result on this bug report when I finish the testing.
