I have a clean install of feisty 7.04 final on with nvidia GeForce 6200 card utilizing nvidia driver from restricted drivers manager. (In other words a very stock installation). This bug really detracts from the waf of feisty. The switch user feature worked fine on this system in edgy and dapper.

Ok, here's an update: I reported earlier that this behaviour had somehow vanished from my system... Well, it's back again! Trying to fix an issue with hibernation, I found out that my install was not using swap at all. After restoring system swapping again, the issue with system lock-up/black

I can confirm the black screen on log out using the resricted driver with an ati radeon xpress 200m. Editing /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf so AlwaysRestartServer=true is a valid workaround. I cannot speak to issues with hibernation but can also second the fact that this is a bug that was introduced some
