I'm going to go ahead and mark this "Fix Released" per the last comment.
Magnus, if this is not the case feel free to reopen this by setting the
status back to "New". Thanks.

In my case, my problem disappeared long time ago and I don't know how it
happened. I guess it was an update what fixed it. Anyway, just in case
it serves you, I'm running the 2.6.22-15-generic kernel and, currently,
I don't have any issues with my integrated broadcom 4306 or my atheros
PCMCIA.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

Hi Magnus,
The Hardy Heron Alpha series is currently under development and contains
an updated version of the kernel. It would be helpful if you could test
the latest Hardy Alpha release: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . You
should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you can,
@Magnus,
Could be - I would only get the crash in a situation with multiple access
points to the same network. It looked like it would flip back and forth
between two AP and eventually lose it...

I still have problems in 7.10, but only when I have network manager
running and at the same time running for example Kismet which does a lot
of channel switching.
I think the channel switching is where the problems arise. I have no evidence,
but anyway.

Interesting because for me it happened all the way around, It worked

I forgot to mention that my Broadcom (4306) is integrated into my laptop

I had the same problem with my Broadcom (Inspiron 8600) but it didn't
happen with my atheros. I think it's a NetworkManager problem. After a

has been a day without any problem using the Broadcom so I guess that an

I have the same issue than Severn Clay. When I'm using my Broadcom 4306
eventually my keyboard locks up but I can still use my computer with the
mouse. The only thing that work in the keyboard are the Ctrl + Alt +
SysRq combinations which are needed because, when I try to restart with

I think I may have a similiar problem - though my keyboard locks up, and
I am unable to switch to another terminal or log out or turn off the
WLAN. I'm using a Broadcom 4309 chipset with the bcm43xx driver and
wpa_supplicant. This only happens when Network Manager is forced to
scan repeatedly.
