Hello all
can anyone clarify what's going to happen with this bug?
is it going to be assigned to someone?
will it be fixed?
what is a valid workaround? can I still run the periodic upgrade that system
propose on regular basis or should I keep system frozen until this problem is
officially fixed?
Does http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.9-rc5-raring/
contain a kernel suitable for pae i.e. suitable for Ubuntu Precise 32
bit running on PC with 8GB memory.

I have removed the linux-headers-3.9.0-030900rc5 package and after rebooting

Assuming that this make sense ( linux-headers-3.9.0-030900rc5 is not installed)

Hello Joe
sorry for the confusion this might be caused by my inexperience on this.
To answer your question, no I do not get the crash when I run apport-collect.
Please see my original description: when I boot from Linux 3.2.0-39, after I

Franco,
huh so you get that system crash every time you run apport-collect?
That sounds like possibly another bug in apport-collect. We'll deal with
that one later. The way to test the latest mainline kernel is actually
pretty simple.
1) Head over to http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline
This is to answer all request provided so far:
1) when I run Linux 3.2.0-39 the system freeze and there is no chance
to gather debugging information from terminal using apport-collect.
2) I can use the apport-collect when I run linux 3.2.0-38-generic and I
get the system error documented above.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect -p linux 1164145
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
