I've now tested 3.19-rc1 for about a month. First couple weeks it was
rock steady--no weird behavior involving sleep (spontaneously falling
asleep either on wake up or spontaneously waking up when I try to put to
sleep) and no crashes. At the end of two weeks, I began to get 'double
wakings'
Hi Christopher:
I've been using 3.18-rc1 for a few weeks now. Initially seemed quite
stable, except for fairly consistent 'double wakings'--that is, I'd wake
it from a suspend and it would automatically fall asleep again in a few
seconds. It would stay awake after a couple wakings. In the last
slowtrain, happy holidays. it would be helpful to test out the latest
mainline kernel 3.19-rc1 to see if this gives you a later environment to
test with.

Seems I can only attach one file at a time. Here's the post-crash dmesg
for the previous msg.

Hi Christopher:
First, to let you know about a crash: I was running 3.13.0-35 and it
spontaneously woke up from sleep and froze on me, with the screen
repeating an error message approximately like: mei_me no destination
server found. I have a dmesg copy from what I believe is right before
the
I've been using v3.17-rc1-utopic for a few weeks now. It didn't crash
for more than a week, then I had two system freezes on the same day.
Hasn't crashed again in more than a week. I do get some 'sleep effects'
--initially going into suspend right after I tried to wake it, more

slowtrain, would the latest mainline kernel via http://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.17-rc3-utopic/ improve upon your experience
with the 3.17-rc1?

slowtrain, thank you for posting the dmesg.txt that contained a call
trace (next time, please don't tar/compress attachment). The call trace
would be sufficient for this bug report to be scoped to. With this in
mind, could you please test the latest mainline kernel via

I'm a little unclear as to what you'd like me to do with
DebuggingKernelSuspend. The system crashes are not deterministic--they
happen about once a week at my current use rate. So, I can't make them
happen. My last crash was last night, but I had to hard reboot 4 times
before I had a
Just fyi, rc3 had the same problems as ever: crashes either going to
and waking from sleep; system spontaneously waking after trying to put
it to sleep, a rare instance or two of the system falling asleep
spontaneously while being used.
A little over a week ago, I installed rc7. Same problems.

Just installed it will let you know how it goes. Will be out of town
for several weeks shortly, so may not get back soon. Would be helpful
to know whether anything is being done in these kernels to address the
problems I've been having or whether this is entirely trial and error.

After a few days of using 3.16-rc2, I can report that I'm experiencing
similar problems to what I experienced in 3.13. The system has frozen
once, on being put to sleep. It has also on multiple occasions
spontaneously fallen asleep during computer use and woken up
spontaneously right after I
I've switched to 3.16-rc2. May take a while for anything to manifest.
Oddly, with rc1 everything seemed stable for the first week of use.
During the 2nd week I got the full stream of issues I had w/ 3.13 (it
spontaneously fell asleep today for the 1st time).

Well, the new kernel was more stable for a week, but I've now had two
system crashes, one waking from sleep (a new phenomenon) and one going
to sleep (same old). Also had it wake spontaneously right after I tried
to put it to sleep. Whether these are exactly the same problem as in
the existing
slowtrain, could you please test the latest mainline kernel via

Hi Chris: So i installed a newer kernel today, 3.16-rc1. So far, no
system crashes, which is very promising.
Yesterday I tried running two sequences of five suspends (system reboot
in between) and got no spontaneous waking, but did get two system
crashes and a third one in Unity (am using the
