graphics, I'm guessing this is not an -ati issue but perhaps the server.

I ran sudo get-edid edid.dat again and the file is attached. Below is a
copy of the terminal output from my computer.

Actually the second file is not data but looks to be text output. The
first one is data, but it looks very invalid:

The problem is that the monitor is not reporting any preferred mode,
which makes it hard for the driver to just guess. If this is the
monitor's fault, nothing can be done. If it's the driver that doesn't
ask the correct way (ddc/edid problems) it might get fixed one day.

I regenerated a new xorg.conf from the Screen and Graphics tool and
