each time during the installation, so I'll have to wait for a new ISO

I have tried some other configuration and added those to the overviews:
DT = DeskTop and LT = LapTop.
a) DT -> Ubuntu 21.10 -> Virtualbox 6.1.30 -> Ubuntu 21.10 -> virt-
manger/qemu -> Ubuntu14.04
b0) LT -> Ubuntu 21.10 -> Virtualbox 6.1.30 -> Ubuntu 22.04 Mate ->
virt-manger/qemu -> Ubuntu14.0
Using your syntax:
a) PC -> Ubuntu 21.10 -> Virtualbox 6.1.30 -> Ubuntu 21.10 -> virt-manger/qemu
-> Ubuntu14.04
b) PC -> Ubuntu 21.10 -> Virtualbox 6.1.30 -> Ubuntu 22.04 Mate ->
virt-manger/qemu -> Ubuntu14.04
c) PC -> Ubuntu 21.10 -> Virtualbox 6.1.30 -> Ubuntu 22.04 Budgie ->
GNOME-BOXES ->

screenshot has only been added to show the display settings.
My description is correct and
Hi,
so to be sure to get it right. This is:
slow: BareMetal -> Ubuntu ??.?? -> Virtualbox -> Ubuntu 22.04
fast: BareMetal -> Ubuntu ??.?? -> Virtualbox -> Ubuntu before 22.04
That matches the screenshots, but not the description you gave.
So there must be something wrong here - I fail to see in yo
A screenshot with the most relevant virt-manager settings is added.
I tried again all my nested virtual machines settings. An overview of my
configurations:
NOK: Ubuntu 21.10+Virtualbox 6.1.30 -> Ubuntu 22.04 Mate with Virt-Manager+KVM
-> Ubuntu 14.04
OK : Ubuntu 21.10+Virtualbox 6.1.30 -> Ubunt
See 2nd screenshot
