Wireless connection to WPA Enterprise network fails using Intel iwl3945 driver.
By now I've found that if I get the latest madwifi from its subversion
repository, compile it and then compile wpa_supplicant agains that, it all
works fine.
However I must do that for each new kernel upgrade. I will post my syslog on
the first kernel upgrade when my wifi stops working (before
I have the same problem on a brand new Thinkpad T61p, using an Atheros chipset
wifi card, on a clean install of 8.04.
Same machine connects fine on XP, and my other toshiba laptop which runs Gutsy
works great.
When I try to select my home network from network manager, it asks for wpa key,
and
Forgot to mention i'm running the 64 bit version of hardy.

No info if iwl3945 will introduce Enterprise support? AFAIK there was in
ipw3945 but isn't in iwl3945.

Anybody at Canonical could report this problem to the downstream iwl3945
project? I suspect that you guys have contact with the people working
on these Intel drivers. Is it Intel that is working on it?

As I wrote before: iwl3945 definitely supports WPA Enterprise and works
flawless for me now.

Waleb, do you connect with NetworkManager? With iwl3945, I cannot create
such a network. I choose NetworkManager applet, Create New Wireless
Network, enter network name and then in the drop-down menu I cannot
select WPA Enterprise, only None, three WEP types, WPA Personal and
LEAP.

Aha, I chose the wrong option! I should have chosen Connect to Other

I still was unable to connect to my school's network. I tried this
after your comment about being able to connect, waleb. Could there be
only partial support for WPA Enterprise?
Sadly, school is over for the summer (not taking summer classes), so I
wouldn't be able to test this anymore.

I don't know why, but since today I can connect to the LAN again.

I can confirm that this bug is present. My school's wireless network
uses WPA Enterprise, and it worked fine in gutsy. Now, it does not
work, as I just recently upgraded to Hardy RC1.
My wireless card is indeed the intel 3945.
Is there any possible way to revert the driver back to the old
** Summary changed:
- Unable to connect to WPA Enterprise Network
+ Wireless connection to WPA Enterprise network fails using Intel iwl3945
driver.
** Description changed:
Since I run Hardy I can't connect to the Network at my University.
This picture should provide all information
Is there one for Intel? I did not know and it is surely not available
for Hardy using the Hardware Manager. But if you get a PCMCIA card with
an Atheros chipset, chances are it will work with its proprietary
driver.

So do you think using the propritary Gutsy driver would make it work
again?

As I wrote before, Gutsy used a propritary driver. Hardy an opensource
driver.
