I've just looked at the output of dmesg for the current session now and
it's showing more than the log file I've attached, so I'm attaching the
output of "dmesg > dmesg.txt" incase it's of any more use.
NB: This is the same session where I plugged in then remove the wireless
card before the crash

Hi guys
I think I'm experiencing the same bug.
About 15-30 seconds after inserting my DWL-G650+ card the machine
freezes and the CAPS Lock light starts blinking.
I am running 8.10 with all updates including proposed and backports and
still getting the same issue.

The above R40 has an old mini pci card (wlan) inside - I have another R40
without that card but the only differens is that it takes a bit longer to crash
when you have the mini pci card inside.

The card, DWL-G650 makes my machines crash under 8.10 and 8.04.
Kernel 2.6.27-9-generic
In a newly installed and fully updated Thinkpad R40 and in a T30 it freezes and
the caps lock pulses.
The card works fine in that other OS from Seattle.
...after the freeze there is a reboot and then a flash
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable
It looks like the time when the bug occurred isn't in the error logs. Can you
please reproduce the problem, reboot and check if the exact time the crash
happened is in /var/log/kern.log.0 or in /var/log/kern.log If it's in the first
file I mentioned please attach it with /var/log/dmesg.0. If tha
