Paul, I'm sorry to hear you are still affected. What version of
nautilus do you have? Do you have jaunty-updates enabled? Do you have
a little eject button in nautilus right next to the removable media?
What effects exactly are you seeing?

previous post ;)
I have all repos activated, including proposed and backports. I have the
eject button in places view but I'm using tree. The effect is as of
the first post of this thread - mount point remains with a duplicate

Another screenshot illustrating the problem. As you can see from the
screenshot the PATRIOT, 102.2GB, and 17.8 GB devices are no longer
attached yet still shown in the Tree view.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Intrepid Ibex. It would help us greatly if you
could test with it so we can
This problem does not occur unless nautilus is pointed right to the root
of the temporarily mounted device. IOW, there is another step between 2
and 3 in comment 9.

Hi,
I am also experiencing this bug.
Some further experimentation reveals that the places menu still shows the disk
after unmounting (but not unplugging) - when unplugged the disk is removed from
the places menu.
So probably this is only a nautilus issue. Also very occasionally the
correct
do you still get the bug? is that specific to some devices?

I still see the bug. This is not device specific. Basically, I get
this for all mount points as far as I can tell.

In my case, it looks like I was jumping the gun. My apologies.
It's still true that my iPod icon does not change when the iPod is
unmounted. However, the mounting and unmounting of other devices
(camera, USB) is working correctly.
So, I'm not really getting what is described here. None of my
I am having the same problem with the unmount status not being reflected
in Nautilus. However, it may not be exactly the same as the one
reported.
After an upgrade to Hardy, when I unmount my iPod, for example, its icon
remains exactly the same. A right click will show the option to mount
it.

the gnome-panel places menu also lists the CF256 removable device which
is a Compact Flash 256MB (surprise, surprise) either in the CF slot on
my Thinkpad or in a USB card reader (depending on circumstances). I've
seen this with my Digicam as well and all kinds of other removable
