I want to reopen, I have the same exact problem and I want it fixed.

workaround:
If I understand all this right users of gateway and packard bell computers that
are not netbooks should just ignore the message for the time being. It is
harmless.
Users of netbooks should report the bug for their model if it has not been
reported already.
There may be nettops or wha
looking at the error in the duplicates dmesg it does look identical to
the error I had on my acer. from my understanding the fix tht was
implemented was essentially a model number check. as I mentioned acer
makes and produces newer gateways. it would not surprise me if they had
similar lines with c
the acer patch worked for some though not all acer laptops. gateway
laptops are also owned and produced by acer so everything under the hood
of newer gateways is very similar to acers.

Just realized that you had a new enough kernel in the first place. Sorry, I
overlooked that. But have a look at the patch that fixed it for others:

It shows that currently all gateway models
I have rebooted with the newest kernel update:

I still got the message. So, for my laptop/BIOS, it has not yet been
resolved.

Yes, acerhdf has been making way to much noise about nothing. However this has
