Well, the patch doesn't play particularly nicely with unity right now. That could certainly be fixed. The bigger issue is that in unity when you minimize evolution it minimizes to the launcher icon. (Think Mac OSX.) So it makes this feature unnecessary and the whole evolution running in the

At the moment I think the developers of evolution don't want to implement this kind of fix. Seems like they have another idea of how the indicator should be used, but still then their visions are not aligned with the devs of empathy and gwibber. Seems like the folks at Gnome might want to work

Working great for me too, testing in Lucid. The only issue I'm seeing is that the new Contacts option in the messaging menu launches another instance of Evolution. A think a better behavior would be to unhide the current instance and focus on the contacts view. But I'm not even sure the plugin
