** Description changed: Ubuntu 9.10 fully updated CPU: Intel Core Duo T2050 (2x1.6Ghz) Video card: ATI Radeon Xpress 200M - I can't watch 720p videos because the video gets choppy (stucks at one - frame and remains blocky for about five seconds) when there is a high - bitrate section

Same problem here and I was effected by the problems with Intel video drivers in the previous release, and now this. What's strange is that it was working fine in the 9.10 Alpha, Beta, and Release Candidate. It wasn't until the Release that it started doing this again. It's extremely frustrating

I'm not sure if this is related, but something seems to be wrong since I upgraded to 9.10. I watched a YouTube video just now, and it suddenly started to be a little slow. It didn't show much trouble in it's normal size, but when I activated fullscreen mode, it was unwatchable. This doesn't happen

Full screen doesn't work for me either and HD videos are choppy too (YouTube videos only play smoothly on Ubuntu 8.04). I have a friend with and Intel GMA950 and he's got the same problem as me,so its not related to video card drivers. -- HD videos are unwatchable

If you could still use totem-xine this wouldn't be a problem... thanks so much for that. Anyway, the xine libraries make better use of the graphics card to accelerate video playback and generally do better when you just want to sit down and watch a movie in fullscreen. You could try installing

Play back of HD is better using xine and xine-ui but even that warns of too many dropped frames. The files play flawlessly on WMP and on a Mac. I'm guessing this is a software issue rather than a hardware issue as my PC is dual boot and the files play flawlessly under vista, yet choppy (that's
