Oops, forgot to restart CUPS. Done...
Well, I stopped CUPS entirely, made sure the change was in the file
and restarted CUPS. I see the following message in
/var/log/cups/error_log:
E [17/Jun/2006:18:30:29 -0600] Unable to open output file
"file:///dev/usblp0" - No such file or directory.
$ ls -
That didn't help.
In the CUPS printers page it still shows:
Device URI: hp:/no_device_found
and
samsung_ml1740 "open device failed; will retry in 30 seconds..."
And lpinfo -v:
direct hp:/no_device_found
Printing a test page didn't work either. I did go ahead and install
the full ubuntu desktop
