I found the reason for my problem: I have a cursor theme (Neutral_Plus)
in my ~/.icons folder; it is displayed as an "icon theme" in the user
interface settings manager. Upon selecting it, everything went down, I
had to manually change the entry in the appropriate configuration file
back to another
I can confirm the bug:
After switching around icon themes in Xubuntu (Edgy Eft with latest updates),
the xfce sesktop went down (gmd restarted).
I can still log in to my xfce session, but my desktop seems to be broken (no
panels at all, right-click menu on desktop doesn't work, keyboard shortcut
I had a crash after clicking on User Interface > Icon Theme > Wasp

No, I haven't had the opportunity to do that. I know switched two-three times
to different icon-themes and back and nothing happend. I hope it will stay so.
The icon themes i am mostly using are OSX, Sladf and one, that's not offcially
available for free download. It's from a XFCE based Distro c
can you confirm then that it happens with latest xfdesktop of today?

No, it does not depend on an specific icon theme. I am used to try new
icon themes, if they look nice. And xfdesktop crashes, while I'm
switching to the new icon set for example and then back to the one I
normally use, if I don't like the new one. But the icon theme I use is
not the "default" and a
does it crash when you change to the icon themes called 'deafult' or
'kubuntu' or any icon theme. There is a know nproblme with those two and
it's going to get fixed before release.
