Christian, excellent. I am not sure if that drm warning is serious or not, maybe someone else can tell if they have seen it on a working card? But it would be interesting if you can try to block the drm module to see if it is responsable for the freeze. Try blacklisting it or do it the tough way

Please note this bug is specific to the Live CD. It appears some people are posting bugs about installed versions of Edgy. A signature of this bug is you can't access the Live Desktop on boot that would allow you to install and you can't access console in order to change drivers. If you are

I updated the description - I think the reporter has made it clear that this bug happens with or without usplash. There are other bugs around for usplash trouble. Can somebody confirm that the computer is totally frozen, not just that X is locked up, for instance by ping over the network, disk
