Unusual setup, with very similar bug

When I select install/start, I see the splash screen on monitor #1, then
blinking cursor, then nothing.I then switched on monitor #2 and there was
Christian, excellent. I am not sure if that drm warning is serious or
not, maybe someone else can tell if they have seen it on a working card?
But it would be interesting if you can try to block the drm module to

Variation of issue:
I get to the point of loading X server and that fails. Getting message
Failed to start the X server and asks if I want to view the X server
output to diagnose the problem with a 'YES', 'NO' tab selectable option.
If I Select YES, here is the information that I get:
X Window
1) Boot to 6.10 LiveCD.
2) Chose Install Ubuntu
3) Splash screen with Knight Rider style status bar
4) After a while, the status bar begins from the left and reaches the end on
the right.
5) Screen blanks, then a garbled X did not start message.
6) Alt-F1-etc works, machine is pingable.

Please note this bug is specific to the Live CD. It appears some people
are posting bugs about installed versions of Edgy. A signature of this

this bug happens with or without usplash. There are other bugs around
for usplash trouble. Can somebody confirm that the computer is totally
frozen, not just that X is locked up, for instance by ping over the
network, disk
