Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, as Ubuntu Edgy Eft is no
longer supported. In addition, Carroarmato0 reported the issue has been
resolved, and Handssolow has used automatix. If you can reproduce this

Just noticed your email and my reply is brief because it's late here in
the UK.
Sorry what do you mean by the question What locale where you using?
It's my wife's PC where there this problem and I'm still having to use the
terminal with
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude
I've installed a recent version of Edgy and the updater seems to work
perfectly now.

Update manager shows 10 updates ready. I may have made an error in my
previous report as the password window did appear. I select to install
all 10 but the figure under the moving orange bar shows I'm only
installing 7 of the 10. The three that didn't automatically install
were-
dbus
dbus-1 utils
On a PC with a fresh install of Edgy this bug is still unresolved after
several weeks.
Update Manager shows downloads available and opening the manager shows a
list of the available updates. Selecting to install, a moving bar
appears with the message Reading state Information. After about 5 to
10
